In the late 1930s, Ruth trained as a commercial artist. She studied painting with Orban in the 1950s and later, Fine Arts at the University of Sydney. In 1961 she was a foundation student in printmaking at the new Workshop Arts Centre, Willoughby and was later instrumental in establishing Primrose Paperworks in Cammeray.
In 1967 Ruth was awarded a scholarship to the Pratt Centre for Contemporary Printmaking in New York, and has attended sculpture and printmaking workshops in many parts of the world. She has held more than 40 solo exhibitions, and her artworks feature in the collections of State and Regional galleries, corporate and private collections and museums internationally.
This exhibition is a tribute to Ruth on her 90th birthday.
