As a classical guitarist, George has performed throughout New Zealand both as soloist and as part of guitar ensemble Duo Kitā. His recent whirlwind journey into the world of historical performance, playing the baroque guitar and theorbo, began in Sydney, Australia (where he currently resides). Here, George quickly established himself as a dynamic soloist and continuo player. He has performed in operas and chamber settings with early music groups such as the Apollo Opera Collective, the Sydney Baroque Festival Orchestra, The St. James Bach Band, the Sydney Conservatorium Early Music Ensemble, the Night Watch Ensemble (NZ), and the Bega Valley Consort.

In 2016 George was awarded the ‘New Zealand Aspiring Guitarist Award’ for the Taranaki Classical Guitar Summer School. He has been a finalist in the Melbourne International Guitar Competition, and the Pettman/Royal Overseas League Chamber Competition as part of Duo Kitā. George is a grateful recipient of the Eleanor Dunn Award and the Patricia Bell Scholarship (University of Sydney), a Massey University High-Achiever Scholarship, a Jack C.
