Originally from Beijing, Joanna is a classical-trained pianist and a qualified teacher of the Suzuki method. She completed her certificate of performance (Honours) and has performed extensively as a soloist and a piano accompanist.

She believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience music. Music is a wonderful method for the development of character and confidence while providing a way for a child to bond with family, friends and the community. As Dr. Suzuki says, "Where love is deep, much will be accomplished"

Joanna can offer Suzuki or Traditional piano method, Wednesday and Sunday. She is also available as an accompanist and can speak Mandarin.

Background

Joanna was born in Beijing, China. She began piano lessons at the age of four. During her studies in China she joined many nation-wide piano competitions including CCTV piano competition. Joanna is a classical-trained pianist and qualified piano teacher of the Suzuki method. She completed her certificate of performance (Honours) and has performed extensively as a soloist and a piano accompanist.

Qualifications and Teaching Experience

Joanna has over nine years of experience teaching piano and music theory. When she moved to Australia in 2008, she commenced teaching privately in a variety of studios, specializing in the AMEB exams. Joanna has created her unique teaching method, which is highly appreciated by the parents and students.

Since completing her Suzuki method training, Joanna has focused on teaching young students the Suzuki Method. In July 2016, Joanna visited Matsumoto, Japan for the celebration of the Suzuki methods 70th anniversary of establishment.

Joanna believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience music. Music is a wonderful method for the development of character and confidence. Community Work

Since moving to Australia, Joanna has regularly performed and accompanied AMEB exams and the concerts. In 2015, Joanna joined Sing Australia St George group and has used her music to reach out to the community in various ways. They have regular performances every month. The most recent highlight was a performance at Government House in Sydney.
